Picnic Party ! Total Cost: about 102 dollars for up to 30 people (adults and kids)
What is great about this Idea is that you can invite several people and your kid will have lots of presents to open at home after the party, not to mention that kids have lots of fun at any park.
You will need the following:
A reserved picnic table at the park of your preference, find a local park that offers you a free picnic table, (remember these are first come first serve, so go early in the morning to find the perfect spot) Cost: Free
Invitations: Use www.Evite.com to send invitations, it is the best way to do it because your friends can confirm and send you messages, also you get to create your own invitation without spending a dollar.
Disposable utensils, plates and napkins..... go to your local Dollar tree store to find some colorful ones, the sell them in solid colors, but you can mix and match them to bring a colorful table, don't forget the table cover and clip holders. Cost for aprox 30 people: 15 dollars
Food and beverage: Hamburguers, hot dogs, sodas, bread, cheese, mayo, ketchup and mustard. for these buy from you local Sams, Costco or BJ's
I am sure you will find one friend that has a member card if you don't have one. 65.00
Cake : Sam's has great cakes for only 12 dollars and they feed up to 30 people.
Write a note on the invitations that it is a Picnic Party and they are more than welcome to bring their own bikes, balls, plastics bats, kites or else.
Organize the kids to play a baseball game to break the ice, once they get to know each other, the party will run smoothly, you can also check my guide of ideas to play at the park to keep children active and organized.
Goody bags: you can create your own goody bags, or simply goodies..here is an Idea, save the empty tube of paper towels or toilet paper, if you are use the paper towel carton tubes you will need to cut them in at least three equal pieces, fill the inside with cand, stickers, chocolates or else and wrap the cones with any left over gift wrapping paper, attach the paper with glue on the center of the cone in a vertical way, leave both sides with the paper long enough to twist it to make it look like a candy, you and your child can have fun decorating them as you please.
Ask friends and family to save the carton tubes for you if you don't have enough time to save them yourself. Cost: candy only 12 dollars
Indoor small celebration for a girl Total cost about 44 dollars for 12 people
Go to a dollar tree store and buy purple and pink plates, napkins, forks Cost: 10 dollars
Buy a nice cake, bakeries at the markets have delicious oreo cakes Cost : 9 dollars
Log in to www.partygamecentral.com and pick some games according to the ages of the guests, 3 or 4 games I you are planning more like a family quality time then you can still have a couple of games and some table games like Monopoly, or Clue, If you don't have any I am sure one in your family or neiborhood can let you borrow one, have fun!
Food: Pizza would be great for this ocassion! find a coupon on the internet or save one if you are planning ahead, you can even ask your local store to give you one, they always have some to put on the top of the boxes to be delivered. cost of 2 large Pizzas : 20 dollars.
Sodas: 5 dollars
MOVIE NIGHT THEME (actually you can do it at any time)
total cost for a group of 7 kids and one adult 111.00 dollars
You will need the following:
Buy all the decorations at Oriental trading you will need an adult and credit card to do the purchase through the internet. Movie night party package includes balloons and decorations
price 27 dollars (including shipping)
Pick a really good movie, (check the previews and comments) AMC theaters have a special price if you go before Noon, I have checked last night and price for movies before noon is only 5 dollars per person. total cost of the tickets. 40 dollars
You can also avoid this part and buy some chocolates, gummy bears, m&m's at your local store 10 dollars
Pay at the concessionary only for the popcorn and sodas 20 dollars
There is no need to order any more food, the idea is to have all that at the movies, you will not have to clean that much if you do it that way, buy one gift card for each of your friends from the Movie theather and handle one to each guest so they can order whatever they want to eat (under a specific budget)
Make sure that when the kids come back from the movies the table is set with a cake, your local supermarket has small cakes with great flavor, like Oreo Cookies, Marble cakes etc. for only 8 dollars
(Or order one with the shape of a piece of film, this will cost you more, but it will be fun)
some fruit punch and sodas will do 6 dollars
Expensive Version
If you like this theme and want to make it a little chic because you can afford it you can rent a limosine to give the kids a ride on the way back home form the theater. you can find some limos on the net that will do that job for 60 dollars, check in your area.
Since limousines are rented per hour you might want to ask them to give you guys a mini city tour in the way back home.

Outdoor games
get some plastic balls, or foam balls (about the size of a mc Donald's plastic ball or a tennis ball) to make a the following game: divide the kids in two teams, boy and girls maybe, give each team a bucket or basket (that can be purchase at the dollar store) full of balls, at least 20, trace a line betweet that divides each team, or put some cones to make the division, when they hear the whisle or when you say "go" the girls team will try to throw all the balls in the basket to the boys are and viceversa, after 3 minutes you stop the game, the team who wins is the one who has less ball in their are.
Musical Hats, is just like musical chairs but instead of chair you will use hats, place the hat making a circle on the grass, you can buy really funny ones at oriental trading, or contact kids Memories if you just want to rent them, the kids will need to go around the circle of hats with their hands behind the back, they can sing a song if you are not bringing any CD player and you can just blow a whisle or say "Stop" they will laugh a lot when they see each other with the funny hats on and you will also take really nice pictures.
You can also make a Potato Sacks game, (they will need some help, assign a couple of adults) you can also purchase them at oriental trading or just rent them at kids Memories.
the water balloon is fun too, have a bucket full of water and place inside enough ballons for all the team.
each team needs 2 persons, the game consists in throwing and catching the water balloon to your partner (standing in front of you) without exploting it and getting wet as a result!, once the water balloon breaks that team is out until last couple remains with the balloon intact. the kids will throw the balloon every time you say "GO", just to make sure everybody does it at the same time.
